QiGong is an ancient mind-body-spirit practice that improves one’s mental and physical health by integrating posture, movement, breath, self-massage, and sound. This experiential practice brings more focus on the self as we circulate the flow of energy in our bodies and minds through slow, intentional movements.
The ancients observed nature and integrated their observations into movement that is based on the five elements: Wood, Fire, Water, Earth, and Metal. As a part of nature, animals were also part of this alignment. The practice of QiGong weaves various aspects of animals and animal behavior to strengthen our relationship among these elements.
We will be using Animal Spirit Cards to facilitate contemplation of how the aspects of these animals exist in all of us; in our body/mind/soul, and how we can use the wisdom of our fellow creatures to facilitate healing within ourselves.
This workshop consists of several short reflective writing prompts and a card reading followed by an Animal QiGong Sequence to bring ourselves into alignment with the present, skillfully using our own energy to cultivate the mind, body, and spirit for harmony and spiritual growth.
Please bring a yoga mat, journal/notebook, and writing utensil.
