QiGong – 5 Element Workshop

Save the date: August 13th from 7:00-8:30pm Five Element QiGong workshop will take place at the om.life Sanctuary Lounge (2nd Floor), and will be led by Erin Kumpf, D.A.C.M., L.Ac., FABORM, of Erin Kumpf Acupuncture & Herbs.
QiGong (pronounced “Chee gong”) is a branch of Chinese Medicine (along with acupuncture, herbs, nutrition, tui na) with roots in Taoism that incorporates gentle stretches, strengthening postures, flowing movement, breathwork and meditation. QiGong is a form of self-healing that helps clear emotional stress and release physical lines of tension to promote a sense of well-being, induce deep relaxation, improve immunity and build a healthy reservoir of energy.
What to expect:
In this workshop, Erin will first guide you through QiGong breathing techniques, warmups, and gentle stretching followed by a Five Element Flow. The final portion of the evening will include a guided meditation on the Five Elements including visualization and sound techniques to help clear and restore vibrancy to the internal organs.

The five elements (Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, Earth) each correspond to an internal organ systems and each organ system has associated emotions, sound, colors and virtues. This workshop is designed to introduce participants to the basic foundations of Five Elements and Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as teach a simple yet profound sequence of movements that are simple, relaxing, enjoyable.
